The Access Mercantile senior leadership team recently stepped out of the office and into the heart of our community for a day dedicated to giving back. Far from the usual grind of meetings and deadlines, we traded our laptops for gloves, our office attire for work clothes, and our routine tasks for something profoundly rewarding. Working with Backpacks 4 VIC Kids who provide crisis packs and gift packs to vulnerable children, aged from birth to seventeen years who are displaced due to abuse, loss of accommodation or due to parent/guardian incapacity. We were astounded to learn that on any one night, over 14,000 children in Victoria are in an out of home care placement. Our day volunteering was a powerful reminder of the impact we can make and grateful for the experience and appreciation to Backpacks 4 VIC Kids.
